Storm system brings ice to portions of Tennessee and Arkansas

Officials in Tennessee have warned motorists about icy roads across the state and the governor has declared a state of emergency due to deteriorating conditions. Officials have reported that several vehicles have slid of the highways due to ice. Schools and other municipal offices have already closed. Some areas have reported 4-6 inches of sleet across Northwestern Tenessee. Freezing rain caused thousands in Tennessee and Arkansas to lose power as of early Monday morning. As of Monday morning, 40,203 Tennesseans were without power. In Arkansas, 27,00 customers lost power in the storm. 2,600 utility workers are working to restore power in Arkansas alone.
